Jimmy Garland Obituary
NEWPORT - Jimmy Allen Garland, 55, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024, in Newport. He was born July 6, 1969, to the late Jerry Garland and Carolyn White Garland, who welcomed their youngest son with open arms.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Garland, his paternal grandparents, John and Alma Garland, and his maternal grandparents, Rufus White and Sarah Cathleen White.
Jimmy, aka Jimmy G or Blackheart to his friends, is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Garland; stepson, Sawyer Taylor; sisters, Lisa Garland Stauber (Larry) and Jeri Garland (Cherie); and his four-legged friend, dog, Kita.
Affectionately known as Uncle Bo, Jimmy is also survived by seven nieces and nephews and 13 great-nieces and nephews.
Jimmy worked with the family tree service business and had many hobbies. His favorite hobby by far was detailing cars. He took pride in transforming a tired dirty vehicle and making it look brand new.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro. Funeral services will be a private event.
