Malda Garrison Obituary
MONETTE - Malda Anita "Bubbles" Garrison, 83, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born Feb. 21, 1940, in Monette to the late Carlean and Eva Strickland Cullen.
Malda was a hairdresser for over 35 years. She was a member of the Monette Church of Christ. Malda loved and cared for her family most of her life including enjoying the youngest grandchildren even while in the nursing home.
She taught all her family how to love wholeheartedly and unconditionally, which is the way she loved. Malda was always giving gifts to those she loved and cared for.
She is survived by her daughters, Anita Tompkins (Ritchie) of Biloxi, Miss., and Gina Despain (Tim) of Monette; grandchildren, Garison Tompkins, Torie Tompkins, Bridget Harrison (Jason), Mallary Davis (Lance) and Jennifer Tedder (Travis); great-grandchildren, Kaleb Dublin, Kameron Dublin, Jasman Harrison, Logan Harrison (Emily), Cayden Davis, Mace Davis, Jon Darrin, Jaxon Barker, Kaleb Tedder and Lindley Tedder; and siblings, Joel Cullen (Bonnie) and Shelia Parten.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melville Garrison, brothers, Bill Cullen (Sandra) and Raymee Cullen, and brother-in-law, Rondall Parten.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today, July 22, in Monette Memorial Cemetery with Josh Parnell officiating under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons.
