DATTO - Millie Brown, 96, of Datto passed away March 3, 2023, at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning.
Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Datto. She loved visiting with her family and enjoyed gospel singing, having been a member of a quartet for many years when she was young.
She was a farmer and farmer's wife. She and her husband, Quinn, worked side by side in the fields and managing day-to-day operations of their family farm. She was a member of Datto Missionary Baptist Church.
On Nov. 9, 1944, she married Quinn Brown, her one true love. He passed away Oct. 24, 2017, 16 days shy of their 73rd wedding anniversary.
Survivors include her children, Rita Crafton of Corning, Mike Brown and wife Sandra of Cabot, and Mitchell and wife Pam of Corning; grandchildren, Kristin (Josh) Hammett, Cameron (Amanda) Crafton, Matthew (Samantha) Brown, Zack (Shayna) Brown and Laura Brown; great-grandchildren, Bella Crafton, Ava Hammett, Braxton Hammett, Nora Brown and Lawson Brown; sister-in-law, Betty Troxel of Jonesboro; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents E.H. and Gertie Denton Troxel; brothers, Conlee and Vincent "Beanie" Troxel; sister, Adele Troxel Hinckley; and son-in-law, Ralph "Hoss" Crafton Jr.
Visitation was held Sunday at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral services followed at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Hovis and Jerry Sollis officiating. Burial was in Corning Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons Matthew Brown, Zack Brown and Cameron Crafton, along with John Troxel, Roger Troxel and Oury Beall.
Honorary pallbearers included Braxton Hammett, Josh Hammett, Fred Brown and Lawson Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
