MOUNTAIN VIEW - Pat Hayden, 79, of Mountain View passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was born Oct. 2, 1942, in Brookland, to John and Nell Cooper Cole. Pat was a graduate of Brookland High School in 1960, then graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1964 with a degree in home economics.
She later earned a master's in adult education from U of A. She began work with the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service in Forrest City and transferred to Mississippi County in 1965 serving as a county home economist for 11 years.
She was then promoted to district program leader in 1976 working out of the state office in Little Rock. She retired faculty emeritus in 1995 with 31 years of service.
Pat spent her retirement years traveling, volunteering and doing genealogy research. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 34 years, Roy Hayden; a brother, Bill Cole; and a sister, Bonnie Cheshier.
Survivors include a daughter, Katherine (Tom) Emerson; a granddaughter, Lindsey (Wilson) Raines; a great-grandchild, Roy Raines; a brother, Bert (Deloris) Cole; a niece, Jill Layne; a great-nephew, Cole Layne; and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Macedonia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Couch, Bert Cole, Tom Emerson, Wilson Raines and Cole Layne.
Visitation will precede the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 W. Washington Ave. in Jonesboro.
