MANILA - Patsy Jesse Lewis, 86, of Manila, a former Siloam Springs resident, passed from this life Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Muskogee, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Jesse Peters Colbert and Margaret Madison Colbert.
Patsy married her late husband, Smokey Joe Lewis, in 1952, and together they made their home in various cities throughout the country because Smokey Joe worked as a building contractor. Patsy later worked as the assistant manager for Walmart in Siloam Springs.
She lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and wife. She was a selfless caregiver, caring for her husband for many years as he suffered from Alzheimer's disease. She had a strong, vivacious personality and was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor.
Patsy loved to cook, homemade buttermilk biscuits and banana bread were a few of her family's favorites. Most of all she loved her family, treasuring her children, embracing her role as Memaw, and cherishing every moment with them.
"She is vigilant over the activities of her household; she doesn't eat the food of laziness. Her children bless her; her husband praises her." – Proverbs 31:27-28.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, India Lewis.
Survivors include two sons, Murray Lewis of Eufaula, Okla., and Jimmy "Porky" Lewis (Carmen) of Siloam Springs, Okla.; her daughter, Patty Wildy (David) of Manila; two brothers; and one sister.
She also leaves seven grandchildren, Justin Wildy (Kristi), Hayley Wildy, Bethany Harris (Paul), Tab Wildy (Taylor), Jimmie Don Lewis (Jill), Brandi Preston (Mook) and Maci Pettit (Terran); 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Okla.
