JONESBORO - Patsy Joyce Morgan, age 86, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Sunday, April 20, 2025. She was born on May 23, 1938, in Cash, to the late Bill and Ruby Overfield.
Patsy was a woman of warmth, strength, and deep love for her family. She found great joy in working in her yard and tending to her garden, especially during her favorite time of year-spring. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family and gathering together to share laughter, stories, and love.
In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Buford Morgan; her sisters, Gracie Lee Brown, Donna London, Jane Higgins, and Sue Greer; her brothers, Bo Overfield, Bobby Overfield, and Rickey Overfield; and her granddaughter, Heather Shorter.
She is survived by her sons, Allen Morgan and wife Renee of Fairview, Tenn.; Dennis Morgan and wife Catrina of Melbourne; David Morgan and wife Kristie of Jonesboro; Jerome Morgan and wife Jayme of Jonesboro; and George Morgan and wife Jennifer of Baton Rouge, La. She is also survived by her daughters, Joyce Shorter of Florida; Ruby Harris and husband Malcom of Newbern, Tenn.; and April Chamblee and husband Jim of Garner, N.C.
Patsy is lovingly remembered by her brothers, Roger Overfield and wife Carolyn of Balch; Donald Overfield and wife Sharron of Afton, Wyo.; and William "Butch" Overfield and wife Rita of Cody, Wyo. She is also survived by her sisters, Jo Ann Priest of Cash; Glenda Browder and husband William of Manassas, Va.; June Lloyd of Grubbs; and Sherry Trotter and husband Joe of Weiner.
Her memory lives on through 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., officiated by Bro. Tommy Newman. Burial will take place at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Morgan, David Morgan, Jerome Morgan, George Morgan, Jim Chamblee, and Malcom Harris. Honorary pallbearers include Allen Morgan, Patrick Morgan, Brad Morgan, Jacob Chamblee, Demetrius Shorter, and Eric Wooten.

Patsy will be remembered for the love she gave, the garden she grew, and the beautiful family she raised. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
