Robert Max Durham, 89, of Lynn, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
He was born May 5, 1936, in Strawberry, to the late Everette and Beulah Durham. Max was a graduate of Strawberry High School and a member of Strawberry Church of Christ. Max retired after 40 years of employment with Vulcan Corporation. He also owned and operated Rainwood, a Black Angus cattle farm. He was an Army veteran, completing basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Fort Eustis, Va.
Max enjoyed working on the cattle farm, fixing fences, working on his tractor. He also enjoyed antique cars and trucks. He especially cherished his 1959 Chevy Impala.
In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Koogler, and his son-in-law, Gene Griffey.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Regina Raney Durham of the home; his daughter, Tammy Griffey of Lynn; his sister, Louann (Rich) Biehler of Mountain Home; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were held Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Strawberry Church of Christ with Bro. Kenny Townsley officiating. Burial was in Smithville Cemetery.
Visitation was Monday from 12-1 p.m., prior to the service.
