RICHMOND, Va. - Sandra "Sandy" Farley Graves, 70, passed away peacefully by the side of her husband, Ted, on Oct. 14, 2024. She was born March 13, 1954, in Jonesboro, the daughter of the late Coleman "Buddy" Farley and Gladys Ellis Farley.
She graduated from Arkansas State University and, at her first sitting, earned her CPA certification and later graduated from the MBA program at Washington University.
The highlight of Sandy's career was being a well-respected national leader in the senior living and hospitality asset management field, which utilized her real estate development, investment, financial management and legal acumen. She worked in this role for several nationally prominent companies, and she always energetically pursued their best interests with diligence and integrity.
Sandy was especially effective at developing and mentoring her team members, and she took great delight in the number of them who went on to achieve their own significant professional success.
After retiring, Sandy's energy and devotion were focused on home, family, friends, church and the many different and loving companion dogs that she so cared for.
Sandy is survived by her husband and dearest friend, Ted; her brothers, Larry (Genevieve) of Cash and Jerry Farley of Jacksboro, Tenn.; her sister, Jackie (Gary) Leech of Jonesboro; and Emma, her English Springer Spaniel.
She shared her enthusiasm and love of travel with her beloved nephews, Aaron (Sona) Luster of Vancouver, Canada, and Zach (Kailey) Luster of Jonesboro; and niece, Lauren (Matt) Barger of Dallas, Texas.
A memorial service of life and renewal will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 4, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Richmond, Va.
In lieu of flowers, she asked that any memorial be made to the Flower Guild of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Richmond.
Her spirit lives on while her presence is so dearly missed.

I am saddened to hear of Sandy´s passing. She was a beautiful lady and friend who I attended college with at Arkansas State University while getting our accounting degrees.
She was truly a woman of faith as was her family I visited occasionally in Cash, AR.
May God comfort each of her friends and family during this time knowing she is with her maker.
No doubt whoever was fortunate to have been in her journey while here on earth gained inspiration of a Godly influence.
I sure did - I never forgot her even though we never saw each other after leaving college.
Grateful to have called her a friend even for a brief moment here on earth and look forward to seeing her again in eternity.

I want to extend my condolences to Sandy's family. I had not seen her since we moved from Cash AR in 1969. She was a year younger than me.
There are never any words to really bring true solace to a grieving family at this time; but as we all know, GOD shall wipe away all tears and be with you all. I know how hard this is as I've lost so many. I never thought I would survive it all but I finally realized it was HIS plan and life went on. I miss them dearly as you will Sandy but she will be forever in your hearts. GOD bless you all.
