HARRISBURG - Sarah Rorieda "Kookie" Collins, 80, of Harrisburg, departed this life Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Flo & Phil Hospice House. She was born January 14, 1945, in Trumann to the late Roy and Essie Kain. She was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church and lived her lifetime in the Harrisburg area. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and taking care of her deer Clara Bell. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and five sisters: Rosalee Raney, Junnie Shoopman, Joyce Hamby, Mary Williams and Barbra Schwandt; and one great-grandson William Clayton Collins.
She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Jim Collins of the home; two sons, David (Deena) Collins, of Ravenden Springs, Tim (Dee) Collins of Trumann; a sister, Linda (Jerry) Banks of Jonesboro; five brothers, Richard and Donald Kain of Trumann, Ralph (Janet) Kain of Harrisburg, Paul (Carolyn) Kain of Bay, Charles (Peggy) Kain of Cherokee Village; five grandchildren, Jerika (Jordan) Johnson, Colt (Callie) Collins, Clay (Tyler) Collins, Ben (Gabby) Collins, Kyle (Olivia) Collins and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 6, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be Monday, April 7, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Pagan and Reverend Rick Forbis officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery, Harrisburg. Pallbearers are Darrell Raines, Daniel Herrod, John Dalton Herrod, Gary Holmes, Mike Freeman and Mike Shannon. Honorary Pallbearers are John Forbis, Tim DePriest and Jimmy Everhart.
