LAKE CITY - Mr. Steven Lawrence Lee, 70, of Lake City, departed this life on Monday, Nov. 10, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born in Flint, Mich., on Feb. 13, 1955, and had lived in Lake City for the past 6 years, coming from Oklahoma. He was a retired Airline employee, he loved gaming, collecting coins, and fishing, a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Desert Storm, and a member of the Sanctuary Church of Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Lee, and his parents, John Davis and Edna Bell Keen Lee.
He is survived by his wife Betty Lee of the home; two daughters, Leah Mayhall and Carolynn (Cliff) Bistrow of Yukon, Okla.; three sons, Richard (Emily) Lee of Houston, Texas., Brian (Lauren) Smith of Cabot, and Justin (Taylor) Smith of Trumann; one sister, Rita (Rob) Hubbard of Divide, Colo., and 11 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Sanctuary Church of Jonesboro, 3119 Rook Road. A celebration of life will follow at 6 p.m. with Reverend Kenneth O'Connell officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye.
Pallbearers will be Justin Smith, Brian Smith, Austin Jackson, Jessie Perry, Roy Hudson, James Cole, Bud Bounds, and James Duncan. Honorary will be Gary Britton.
