JONESBORO - Suzanne Rothrock Hackney, 80, of Jonesboro departed this life Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born March 12, 1942, in Atlanta to the late George and Husie Rothrock.
She lived in Jonesboro for 20 years, moving here from Osceola.
Suzanne retired from the City of Jonesboro as a human resource manager and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro. She served as president of St. Bernards Auxiliary.
She also served as state president of the Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary Association and on its board of directors.
If she wasn't working she was traveling, watching her grandkids play different sports.
In addition to her parents, Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert Allen Hackney.
She is survived by one son, Mark Hackney (Kenda) of Jonesboro; one daughter, Melissa Robson (Jamie) of Olive Branch, Miss.; two grandchildren, Brent Hackney of Jonesboro and Hughes Robson of Olive Branch; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Emerson Funeral Home. There will be a private family graveside service at a later date.
