JONESBORO - John William Verser, 35, of Jonesboro, passed from this life Thursday, May 9, 2024. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, on Sept. 11, 1988, he was nurtured by the loving care of Joe and Melanie Verser.
Will was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. He earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from Arkansas State University.
Will had a passion for animals, particularly his beloved Belgian Malinois, whom he trained with patience and skill. He found immense joy in their companionship and the bond they shared.
Will loved his family and was so proud of their accomplishments. He also loved to join in their activities whether it was playing Xbox or playing funny games. In his leisure time, Will enjoyed the lake and attending music concerts.
A mischievous spirit at heart, Will delighted in pranking his beloved brother, Matt Verser, and his sister, Susannah Horton. Life with Will was never boring.
Will also enjoyed hunting and especially socializing with friends. He loved talking and had a wide circle of friends from many areas of life.
Will leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, remembered fondly by his son, John William Verser Jr., of Jonesboro, daughter, Elle Thielemier of Jonesboro, and son, Adam Wynn of Jonesboro. He is survived by his dad, Joe Verser of Jonesboro; mom, Melanie Verser of Jonesboro; brother, Matt Verser (Katie) of Jonesboro; sister, Susannah Horton (Cody) of Jonesboro; and nephews, Sutton Verser and Callahan Horton.
The visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Emerson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home, with Jamar Andrews and Rodney Reeves officiating. Burial will be private.
The pallbearers will be Jacob Johnson, David Johnson, Bryan Rook, John Charles Williams, Bill Templeton and Jordan Hendrix.
