Richard Larson Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Allen Larson, 70 of Sterling announces that he went to be with Lord on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Public viewing will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 8 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 there will be a small, private funeral. All others can watch the video of his celebration of life which will be posted after 5:00 pm on Saturday, January 9 at www.facebook/chaneyreager.com. Richard was born February 20, 1950 in Dalton NE and grew up in Potter NE farming prior to coming to Sterling Colorado. He attended high school in Potter, and briefly attended the University of Wyoming before coming home to help with the family farm. The family owned and operated Larson's Motors for many years. Rich was "Mr. Happy." He will be remembered for his smile that lit up the room, his contagious laugh and baby blue eyes. He was a friend to everyone and loved all the people he met along the way. Rich was married to Linette Haas on March 28, 1992 in Las Vegas, NV. The love of his life. They enjoyed traveling, yard work, hanging out with each other and spending time with family. Rich was a member of Peace Lutheran Church since coming to Sterling. He loved attending, volunteering, and the fellowship he had there. Rich was a member of the Elks club for many years, he loved to fly fish and going to the lake boating. He loved classic cars and riding around in his 1969 Mustang with the top down. He was preceded in death by his parents Velma and Leon Larson, son Ty Larson, 2 infant children and many aunts and uncles. Rich is survived by his wife Linette; daughters Amber Morton (Keith) and Kacy Aukland (Ryan); grandchildren Reid and Ty Morton and Avry and Ashton Aukland; brothers Lyle Larson (Judy) of Las Vegas, NV, and Gary Larson (Cindy) of Morill, NE.; Uncle Rolie of Las Vegas, NV and Aunt Laura of Boulder. We will always carry his memory in our hearts until we meet again. Contributions may be made in Rich's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or David Walsh Cancer Center in care of Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, PO Box 1046, Sterling, CO 80751

We’re so sorry for your loss. Rich will be missed. We will cherish the memories of working and traveling around the country side with him, especially the trips in his 69 mustang, he was always fun to be around.
