Cindy K. Meece, 66, of Monticello, passed away at 3:56 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2025, at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
Cindy was born on October 17, 1958, in Urbana, IL. the daughter of Floyd V. and Florence O. (Prahl) Rhoades. She married Ron Meece on June 25, 1977, in Monticello.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Ron Meece of Monticello; sons, Kyle (Kristle) Meece and Ryan (Ayla) Meece both of Monticello; daughter, Shayla (Kyle) Fountain of White Heath; grandchildren, Madisyn, Makenna, Eden, Abel, Hayz, and Miles; brother, Randy (Rita) Rhoades of Groveland. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Rhoades, and her loving dog Ellie.
Cindy was born and raised on a farm outside of Monticello and ended up building a home and a family just a ¼ mile down the road from where she grew up, with her loving husband Ron of almost 48 years of marriage. Cindy was a homemaker, but more importantly she was a hard-working mother of 3 kids. The life and lessons that Cindy provided for her children over the years are items that will never be forgotten and helped to pave them into the individuals that they are today. Although being a mom, and in later years a grandma can keep a person busy, Cindy enjoyed many things. She was an avid sewer, gardener, loved cooking a large meal, and for many weekends over the years you could find Ron and her on the boat at Clinton Lake with their "boating friends". Cindy also loved her little dog Ellie, and spending time with family. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, and will be missed dearly by so many.
Private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Monticello FFA Greenhouse Fund or the Piatt County Animal Shelter.
