Jean Hager Obituary

Des Plaines - Beloved mother and grandmother, Jean Hager (nee Motley) passed away on May 4, 2025, at the age of 85 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. She was born on September 24, 1939, in Chicago. While working at the Des Plaines Theater in her late teens, she met her future husband, Bob, who was in the Air Force and stationed at O'Hare. They married on November 15, 1958, and raised a family together in Des Plaines, IL. Jean will be remembered for her outgoing, fun-loving personality and generous spirit. Known by friends and neighbors as The Cat Lady, she had an enormous love for cats. She also adored children and was overjoyed at the arrival of her first great-grandchild this past October. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert (Bob) Hager. Jean leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by daughters, Cheryl Hager and Robin (Rick) Eaton, grandson, Dillon Eaton (Corinna Aguirre), great-grandson, Oliver Eaton, and brother, Jack Motley. Jean will also be remembered fondly by her nephews, nieces, and many friends. A private family memorial will take place at a later date.
