Andrew Cyr Obituary

Andrew Bryan Cyr, 31, cherished son of Brian D. Cyr of Ellington and the late Abigale Cyr, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Tolland on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017.

Born Aug. 6, 1986, in Rockville, Andrew lived most of his life in Stafford and Tolland. He was a graduate of Tolland High School, and at the time of his death had been employed by L. Markese Construction of Wethersfield.

Besides his father, Andrew is survived by his stepmother, Catherine Stephenson; his beloved sister and best friend, Annelyse Cyr of Tolland and her partner, John Botts; his darling niece and nephew, Adarrah Botts and Winter Bailey; and his stepsister, Nicole Piacitelli. He was predeceased by his sister, Stacy Cyr.

Supporting him always throughout the challenges he faced in life were his aunt, Nancy Appleby and her husband, Scott; his cousin, Christie Appleby and her husband, Craig Dietz; and his uncle, Well Lindsay and his wife, Marty. He also leaves many cousins, aunts, and uncles, including Brent Cyr, for whom Andrew was like another son, Sandi Alicandro, Crystal and Mark Zdanis, Brenda and Jay Lush, and Joy Cyr.

Andrew will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was smart and charming, with a terrific work ethic and a wonderful, witty sense of humor. His passing is a heartbreaking and incalculable loss to his family who loved him deeply and supported him throughout his short life.

A gathering for Andrew's friends and family will be held at the Tolland Arts Center, 22 Tolland Green, on Friday, Sept. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Cremation Society of New England is in charge of arrangements. An online guest book for condolences is available at

Brian & Alyse, my heart is broken to hear this. The memories of Andrew have been flooding my head. He had a heart of gold, a polite kind young man,a fun loving kid that was always a great friend to David & Steven. I remember the trip we took to Florida with Andrew sitting in the back of the van with his Mickey Mouse gloves on and making us all laugh... there are so many of those great times, the adventures were priceless and they will never be forgotten. May you find peace during this difficult time and know that we are just around the corner ❤. May God hold you in the palm of His hand and give you the strength today and forever.
Hugs and Prayers, Sheila & Jusyn
