Andrew Demers Obituary

Andrew Paul Demers, 79, beloved husband of Priscilla Therrien Demers, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., died suddenly, Oct. 31, 2009, at East Cooper Regional Medical Center.

The relatives and friends of Andrew Demers are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, in All Saints Lutheran Church, 2107 North Highway 17, Mt. Pleasant, S.C., at 10 a.m.

Arrangements are by J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009.

Andrew was born in Fairfield, Vt., son of the late Elie and Marie Rose Noel Demers. He was a veteran with the U.S. Army, and was a faithful member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. He worked for Pratt & Whitney, with 35 years of service.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Priscilla Therrien Demers; and his cherished daughters, Diane and John Nolan, Elaine and John P Machnicki Jr., Lisa and James Patrick, and Karen and Daniel Stafko. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Alyssa and Krista Nolan, John, Jessica, and Catherine Machnicki, David and Jefferey Patrick, and Nicholas, Michael, and Kimberly Stafko; two sisters, Helen Bourbeau and Pauline Renaud; and one brother, Marcel Demers. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Armand and Bernard Demers.

The family requests memorials be made to the "Building Fund" of St. Benedict Catholic Church, 3850 Bessemer Road, Suite 120, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466.
