April Patricia (Forand) Krieski, 80, of Ellington, beloved wife of John F. Krieski, died peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Manchester Manor, surrounded by her family. April was born on April 29, 1943, in Rockville, CT, daughter of the late Oscar and Mary (Zashut) Forand. She grew up in Vernon and attended Rockville High School. April met and married the love of her life, John Krieski in November of 1973. They built a home in Ellington shortly after and have lived there ever since.
April loved to cook for her family and enjoyed family gatherings. She also enjoyed going to tag sales on the weekends. A kind, caring, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be dearly missed.
Along with her husband of over 50 years, John, she leaves her children, Mary Beth Gallo and her fiancé, Matthew Saegaert of Manchester, and John E. Krieski and his wife Mary of Manchester; her grandchildren, John Stephen Krieski, Daniel Noah Gallo, Anna Grace Krieski, and Roy Samuel Krieski. She also leaves her sisters, Mary Abbruzzese and her husband Gerry of Vernon, and Henrietta Safrank of Bolton. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
April's family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Manchester Manor for their kind and compassionate care.
Her family will receive friends on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 3 p.m.-5 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor.
