Aurelie MacKay Obituary
Lee was born in Hartford on Jan. 13, 1928, the daughter of the late William and Helen (Gould) May. She was a resident of Somers since 1966 and a graduate of Lasell College in Massachusetts. Lee was a member of the Somers Congregational Church for many years. She was a longtime friend of Bill W. and for over 30 years she helped and supported many women through their steps of recovery. Lee was also a member of the Village Players in Somers, where she played many leading roles.
In addition to her loving husband of 67 years, Donald MacKay, Jr., she leaves behind two children, Scott MacKay and his wife, Debbie and Andrea Purcell and her husband, John; a brother, Lowell May; and two beloved grandchildren, John and Dana Purcell.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28, at Somers Congregational Church, 599 Main St., Somers. Interment will be held in Springfield Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Donations in Lee's memory may be made to The Springfield Rescue Mission, 10 Mill St., Springfield, MA 01108.

I just received a phone call this evening and learned of Lee's passing. I just saw her last year at the library and had a nice chat as she joked about now needing to look for large print books. Don, I am so sorry for your loss and my heartfelt thoughts are with you as well as dear Scott and Andrea.

I had never met "Lee" however, heard her name many times at my Mother's house. She was a true hero in my eye's and very supportive to my Mom for this I will forever be thankful. Rest in peace.
