Barbara Karadimas Obituary

Barbara A. Karadimas, 75, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of James "Jim" Karadimas for 54 years, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

The daughter of the late Edward and Frieda (Buckner) Blum, Barbara was raised in Bayside, New York, and had lived in Windsor Locks for 54 years. She was the Sunday School director and Sunday School teacher at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Windsor. She was an active member at Trinity Episcopal Church in Tariffville, where she volunteered with Vacation Bible School, was a member of the Altar Guild, and was an Eucharistic visitor to those who could not leave their homes. Additionally, she volunteered for several years at the Windsor Locks Public Library. Her world revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved and adored. Her celebrated title as "Mema" motivated her to bake copious amounts of melt-in-your-mouth goodies, and they will forever miss her world-famous snickerdoodles.

Besides her husband, Jim, she leaves two sons, Jason Karadimas and his wife, Kate of Granby, and Brian Karadimas and his wife, Caroline of Cape Charles, Virginia; four grandchildren, Eric Karadimas, and his fiancé, Mark, Alexander, Madelyn, and Gabriel Karadimas. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Ellen Karadimas of Ellington; one brother and one sister predeceased her.

Services will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to her son Brian's go fund me for his cancer treatment.
