Benito Pagani Obituary
Born in Manchester, he was the son of Mary (Naven) Pagani and the late Benito A. Pagani Sr. He was the owner and operator of Titan General Contractor's with his partner John Tierinni. He was a local softball legend who played in tournaments locally and nationally and leagues in the Manchester, Vernon, and East Hartford area. He was probably the greatest storyteller the game of softball will ever know. Benny was very well known and liked especially for his sense of humor. He also recently enjoyed assisting with his son's farm league baseball team.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his adored children, Benito A. Pagani III, and Braedan T. Pagani; his siblings, Michael A. Pagani, and his wife, Rosemary, of East Hartford, Mark A. Pagani, and his wife, Wendy, of Bolton, Linda Pagani of Vernon, Diane Pagani of Manchester, and Maria Pagani, and her fiancé, Dave Stefanowich, of Windsor Locks; his sister-in-law, Katrice Sponzo, and her husband, Tony; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 28, at St. James Church, 896 Main St., Manchester, followed by burial in St. James Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.

I just found out about Benny's passing. I got to know Benny and his brother Mark when they would come to visit our mutual friend Tom P at UConn. I am not surprised at all to see all the great thoughts about Benny from so many friends. He was a great guy - the only thing bigger than his handshake was his smile and laugh. My thoughts go out to his whole family.

I moved out of state 3 years ago after retiring. I only found out about his passing tonight. I remember Benny from Gibson's gym, Gold's gym, & softball. He was just a great guy. I'm saddened by the news. I wish his family well.

Benny, you truly lit up the room when you walked in. Always late, didn't matter just you being there mattered. Every photo I could find of you was you surrounded by friends and family waiting intently to see what you had to say and it was always a great story!- You are a treasured friend and I will always be there for Tara and the boys if they need anything. We all miss you so much you were someone that if one didn't know you, they wanted to.

My deepest condolences to the Pagani family. I knew Benny from back in the "old days" of Gibsons Gym and then Gold's. Benny's humor and stories would make the long workouts go by swiftly. He truly would be the center of attention as well as a strength powerhouse.

Benny, I had the chance just two weeks ago to mend our fences. I saw you at the mall but pride and bitterness drove me past without so much as a nod. I have learned from you passing that a person cant be slow to forgive and quick to punish. It took your passing to help me on my life's journey with that. I have found some good in the worst of situations, but I struggled with this one. I needed to look inside myself and found the will to admit I too was wrong! You are gone now but I can say to you and all who read this I am sorry for ridged ways. I grow and learn from you even now.
Ben I will always remember how you ransacked my lunch pail every day I worked with you. From a piece of fruit to my ganola bars, food was not save if it was within arms reach:) Thank God Franny P brought chocolate donuts every chance he saw you or I would be broke:) Bro, may your afterlife contain a softball field with no restricted flight balls and lights that stay on all night! Dear Tara, Little Benny, and Braeden,
We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Benny. Both my husband and I would always be greeted with a friendly smile and a hello when we would see him at little Benny's basketball and baseball practices. You could tell that Benny really enjoyed helping out at the practices. Our son went to Preschool Of The Arts in Tolland with little Benny so we would see the family there and at the concerts they had and again there was always that friendly hello even though we really didn't know him like many did. Our hearts are heavy and our thoughts and prayers go out to you and all the lives he touched. Always remember the good times you all have had and hold them dear. It is the memories that will bring a smile- maybe a tear or two but mostly comfort now and in the days and years to come.
