Carl Andrew Misuraca
Carl Andrew Misuraca, 72, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, with his loving wife Kim by his side.
Carl was born in Hartford, Connecticut on March 20, 1952, the son the late Alfonse (Al) Misuraca and the late Pauline (Polly) Misuraca, and resided for most of his childhood years in South Windsor, CT. After high school, Carl was employed by several local manufacturing firms before being hired by Pratt & Whitney in 1972, where he worked until his retirement in 2009. In his leisure time, Carl enjoyed hunting and fishing, and his love for fishing gave birth to tying flies and fabricating custom fishing rods for himself and his friends. A motorcyclist from his early years, and being knowledgeable regarding their history, Carl became an integral part of the team at the New England Motorcycle Museum in Rockville where he served for a time as its curator. Carl was an avid reader, and over the years acquired much knowledge of Native Americans, especially as it pertained to the history of the Wampanoag Tribe and the King Philip's War. Among Carl's many talents was his penchant for storytelling - whether it be to teach, to share his knowledge on a given subject - or just as part of a conversation. Anyone who knew Carl will fondly remember that, with much sweat and toil, he produced what some would say was the best maple syrup in all of New England. Above all else, Carl was a friend to many, a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, and brother…and a most generous and giving person.
He will be greatly missed by all of us. Besides his wife, Kim, Carl leaves behind his son, Stephen Misuraca of Tampa, FL, Stephen's wife, Sandra, Stephen's sons Dylan Misuraca and Ryan Misuraca, also of Tampa, FL. His son, Todd Misuraca of Stafford Springs, CT, Todd's wife Nicole, along with Nicole's son Ethan, and her daughter, Bella. Carl also leaves behind his brothers and their wives, Paul Misuraca and his wife Charlene, of Manchester, CT and Tom Misuraca and his wife Mary, of San Antonio, TX, in addition to nieces, a nephew, and many friends.
