Cecile Gates Obituary

Cecile D. (Pierre) Gates, of Wethersfield, entered into eternal life at the age of 94 on Friday, June 11, 2010, in the comfort of her home.

Cecile was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Albert J. Gates, who predeceased her in 1991. She was born on July 6, 1915, in Munson, Mass. the daughter of the late Clarence and Clara (Morris) Pierre. Cecile attended schools in Monson and was very active in athletics. Cecile worked and lived in Enfield for many years before moving to Port Charlotte, Fla. with her beloved Albert. Always an active community member, she led the bereavement group "Life Goes On" for 10 years. Cecile retired after 24 years of service with A.P. Wagonett /Albany Engineering.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Levine and husband, Arnold, of Somers; her grandchildren; A. Lance Emrick of Naples, Italy, Rex Emrick and John Dussault of Wethersfield; and two great grandsons, Stephano and Alberto Emrick of Naples, Italy. Cecile was also predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Services for Cecile will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010, at 11 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield followed by interment in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery, Enfield.

Friends may gather with her family during calling hours prior to the service Monday morning from 9 to 11 a.m.

Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association CT Chapter 279 New Britain Road, Ste 5, Kensington, CT 06037.
