It's with great sadness that I hear of Chris' passing. I grew up with Chris and the Boyd family on Randall Dr. and although I probably haven't seen him since he was 12 or 15, I remember Chris as a great kid who, as I read the comments, grew up to be an outstanding father, friend, and boater with a wonderful daughter! Many fond memories of Chris and his family from our days in Suffield.
Our thoughts, prayers and sympathies are with his family.

I am so sorry to hear of Chris passing. I knew him from Suffield High and have many happy memories of fun times! In recent years of seeing Chris and playing catch up, he spoke of his daughter Caitlin and how much he adored her! My sense was that above all, she was his everything!
RIP Chris, and Caitlin just know you are loved!

Our deepest sympathy to Chris's family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I have known Chris for nearly 30 years and the stories to be told are probably best left untold. We have had some great times together, whether it be Block Island, Candlewood Lake or even a golf outing. I am proud to be able to call myself a friend to Chris and him to me. I was fortunate to have spent some time with Chris prior to him leaving us and moving on. The one constant in Chris's life was Caitlin Marie his beloved and cherished daughter. From when she was that little girl running around the pool down at the boat to walking on the beach with him in Florida, he was so proud of her. Chris, just know that you will never be forgotten and always be remembered with each passing day…
May you travel the seas forever… Remember we are only visiting and to that I say I will see you again someday my friend…
With Love,

My husband and I just heard about Chris and we are very sorry for your loss. My husband and I knew Chris through HYC. He really enjoyed the summers on the water with "Brandywine" and occasionally we'd pass each other by and offer up a wave. May the Lord give all of you strength to endure through the trials of life.

Jay & Peter,

We were so sorry to hear about Christopher. I was just talking to my husband the other day about how much my Dad (John Hoar) used to like to sit with your Dad and "chew the fat" when my Dad went to your father's shop for eyeglasses.

Please know that Chris, the two of you, and your families are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

I met Chris when I was being interviewed for my job at Fed Ex. Chris was engaged in the hiring process and helped me land a spot on his team in 2007. Since that time, we were very close. We spent lots of hours on his boat which was his second love. Caitlin was #1. He even named his boat after her. I will always cherish his friendship. He had an energy and zest for life that kept him very youthful. My thoughts go out to his family and I will never forget him.

Our condolences to Chris's family, especially Caitlin Marie. Your Dad loved you so much and he was very proud of you. He was a good man and a good friend to everyone on Dock 7. He even had dog treats for Bella, Bo, Tanner and Chalupa. We will all miss him greatly. May he rest in peace. Anna/Mark Gambini Westbook, CT

I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathy to all of Chris' family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time.

I have not seen Chris in a long time, but I grew up with Chris in Suffield. We were in the same class at school. In the first grade, Chris heard me tell our teacher that she messed up the spelling of my last name on my folder. She wrote "Penguin". I remember Chris laughing hysterically when he heard me tell the teacher my name was wrong. From that day on, Chris always called me Penguin. That name caught on. To this day there are still some folks from school that will call me penguin.

Thanks for the nickname Chris. Rest in Peace.
