Cynthia Cooley Obituary

Cynthia Lynn Cooley
Cindy departed from her earthly life, at her home, on May 16, 2025 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. During her illness Cindy was under the loving care of Hospice. Her mom, son and daughter were also a big part of her end-of-life care.
Cindy was born May 1, 1963 in Hartford, CT to William and Janice Cooley. She lived her youth in Enfield, having moved to Stafford Springs as a teenager.
Cindy graduated from Stafford High School and Asnuntuck Community College. She held many different positions during her life and at the time of her passing she was employed at Tri-County Greenhouse where she shared her love of gardening with her beloved clients.
The ocean, reading a good book, cooking and being with her extended family (the American Legion) brought her great joy. Oh, and she loved her Harley and the experiences owning one brought.
Left behind to mourn besides her many friends are her mom Janice Lutzen, son Michael and partner Jennie St. Pierre, daughter Carissa and spouse Tyler Sawyer. She was blessed with four grandsons, Vincent Bascetta, Teo, Carson and Desmond Sawyer. She always looked forward to their visits and had daily phone calls with Carissa and (the boys). Cindy also leaves behind a special friend Mickey. Cindy was predeceased by her father William J, and brother William R. Cooley.
To honor Cindy's wishes there are no formal services; however, there will be a celebration of life at the Stafford American Legion at a later date.

I knew Cindy from high school. I can recall a common theme of our conversations when we hung out was our similar hair and how to tame it! But we were lucky, actually since Big Hair was in! My condolences to Cindy´s family. She was such a kind and sweet person. I feel lucky to have known her.

Cindy and I were friends since the 8th grade when she moved to Stafford. We had many adventures and fun times going to the beach, concerts and all kinds of get togethers. We drifted from hanging out the last decade but always chatted when we ran into east other in town. She will always be remembered as the kindest, most caring and giving friend anyone would ever want. She will be missed by many, many people. May you Rest In Peace and I will see you in heaven my friend
