Cynthia Doyon Obituary

Cynthia (Shannon) Doyon, 80, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Roland L. Doyon, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at her home.

She was born July 27, 1934, in Barre, Vermont to the late Harold G. and Alice E. (McAllister) Shannon. She moved to Connecticut as a teenager and had lived in the Hartford area until eventually settling in Windsor. Before her retirement, Cynthia worked for 24 years at Aetna as a supervisor in the Casualty & Loss Department. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Windsor and was a member of the Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Aetna Women's Club and ITC (International Training & Communication). She was an avid reader but enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise Laderoute, of Windsor Locks, Rosalind "Lynne" Levchuk and her husband, David, of Lunenburg, Vermont; her brother, Conrad Shannon and his wife, Christine, of Brunswick, Georgia; her sisters, Colleen Williams of Enfield, Catherine Nelson of Bolton; her grandchildren, David Levchuk Jr. and Shannon Laderoute; and her great-grandchildren, Derrick, Jennifer, Carter, Cayden, and Kaleyanna. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her husband and parents, Cynthia was predeceased by her son-in-law, Paul Laderoute; and her brothers-in-law, Henry Williams and Jonathan "Dusty" Nelson.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 10, 6 p.m. at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Her family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the spring.

Denise and Lynn, I'm so sorry for your lose. Im sorry that I recently just found out about your moms passing. She was a great lady and i'll always remember how will she treated me and my family. I hope & pray for both of you as I know how your mom meant so much to both of you.

To Cynthia's family,

I worked with your Mom 35 years ago. She was the kindest, sweetest, funniest ladies I had the pleasure to work with. She spoiled all of "her girls", in the office, for future Supervisors. No one even came close to the skills she had with people. She didn't have it easy herself, but we all loved Cynthia. I'm sorry I lost touch with Cynthia when I moved to NY. We wrote for a short period and I knew she had problems with her sight. Please know that I think of Cynthia often and I'm so sorry for your loss. I felt blessed to have had her in my life as I started in the workforce. She was an inspiration to the way I treated others in my career. She loved her family. My deepest sympathy goes out to your family at this very sad time. Sincerely, Julie Preston Cortese
