Daniel Magoon Obituary

Daniel James Magoon of Ellington passed away unexpectedly at his home Feb. 11, 2019. He was 31.

Dan was known for his charismatic personality, his beautiful smile, his warmth, and his innate ability to provide compassion without judgement. Dan was always the first in any room to offer a hug, a smile, a funny story or a listening ear to anyone in need. He was the quintessential salesman and loved working with people, especially as a salesman at a local dealership. Dan cherished his family above all else in this world and was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend.

He is survived by his beloved children, Summer Grace and Keller David; their mother, Megan Burns; his parents, Dennis and Eve (Bartlett) Magoon of Ellington; his siblings Cory, his wife Jodi, Ryan and Angela; nieces, nephews, and a large extended family who will miss him dearly.

A funeral Mass will be held at St Bernard's Church in Vernon, at 10 a.m. on Feb. 23. Family will gather at the church at 9:30 a.m. to welcome everyone prior to the mass. A celebration of Dan's life will be held at Georgina's Restaurant in Bolton at 11:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to celebrate Dan's beautiful yet short life and to share a story or happy memory for his children to cherish.

Dan was a proud volunteer at the annual Cornerstone Soup Fest. He was proud of his community service and we know he would be delighted to know that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in his memory to Cornerstone Foundation, Vernon.

Dan was my car salesman, but when I met him and we talked, it felt like we were already friends. He had this warmness or charisma about him that just attracted you towards him. I bought a vehicle from him, but everytime i would go down there we would talk, and i got to know him a little, and he knew me. He was a genuine person who cared about other people. The last time i saw him he was not in a good place, I wish i could have helped him, and while i didnt know him as well as others, im genuinely going to miss him. Dan Magoon I hope you can rest easy now
