David Cadieux Obituary

David Joseph Cadieux Sr.
June 27, 2025
David J. Cadieux
CHICKAMAUGA - David Joseph Cadieux Sr., age 72, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 27, 2025. David was born on April 25, 1953, in Hartford, Connecticut, and grew up in Enfield. He spent most of his adult life with his family in Trenton and Chickamauga, Georgia. As a youth David was a Boy Scout who loved camping and fishing, and he will be remembered by many as a crack shot and expert fisherman. For many years, he was a very well-respected Teamsters shop steward at Finast in Windsor Locks, CT. Dave was also a devout Christian who enjoyed volunteering his time to spread the Word to prison inmates through ministries and medical missionary work. He attended prayer meetings with his Seventh Day Adventist church and often presented bible verses to the congregation. David had an enduring willingness to help others and positively impacted many lives. His personality was gregarious, yet he was a humble man. He loved music, sang beautifully, and played the guitar. He loved to cook and barbecue for his family. He was blessed with a sharp comedic wit and perfect timing. David made friends easily and was always the life of the party. His sudden absence has left a massive hole in our hearts. We knew him as a kind and loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend.
David was preceded in death by his father, Harold Francis Cadieux Jr. He is survived by his devoted mother Kathleen McLaughlin Cadieux; his beloved wife, Berneice Freeman Cadieux; his sons, David Joseph Jr. and Jesse Cadieux; his daughters, Megan (Gallt), Amanda and Moriah Cadieux; granddaughters Autumn and Iris Cadieux and Rowyn Chisholm; grandsons Jettson Chisholm, Ellery, Michael and Cedric Ward, and Jackson Sobel. He also leaves his siblings Joan, James, Kevin, and Chris (Karen) Cadieux, Andrea (Matt) Wagers, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for immediate family was held at the Trenton, Georgia, Community Center on Thursday, July 17, 2025. In lieu of gifts or floral tributes, the family suggests a donation in David's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
