David Kutscher Obituary

David C. Kutscher, 84, of Ellington, beloved husband of 54 years to Joan (Knapp) Kutscher, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, May 2, 2019.

Born in New Britain, the son of the late Harry and Myrtle (Chase) Kutscher, he grew up and lived in New Britain before moving to Ellington over 52 years ago. David proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement in 2000, David was employed as a cabinet maker for Peerless Woodworking in Glastonbury for 27 years. He was a member of the Ellington Congregational Church. He was a former member of the Connecticut Governor's Horse Guard.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Barbara Kutscher-Eddins and her husband, Darrell, of California, Thomas Kutscher and his wife, Luisa, of Maryland, Richard Kutscher of Nevada, Margaret Kutscher of Ellington, and Anne Kutscher and her companion, Lenny Ouellette, of Tolland; seven grandchildren, Russell, Angelika and her husband, Brendan, Angelo and his girlfriend, Amelia, Jonathan, Barbara, Anne, and Aurora; his sister, Carolyn Contestable of Ellington; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Wesley Kutscher.

A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday, May 11, at 11 a.m. at the Ellington Congregational Church, 72 Main St., Ellington.

There are no calling hours and burial is private.
