David Martocci Obituary

After a long courageous fight, David Andrew Martocci, 50, of South Windsor, loving son of Arlene (Luchina) Martocci and the late Michael Martocci, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Hartford on Oct. 9, 1964, and lived in South Windsor all his life. He attended schools in South Windsor and worked for the local farmers at age 10, before becoming a machinist. David was an avid reader and had a love of UConn Women's Basketball. He enjoyed golfing with his father and brothers. David also enjoyed "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart, "Big Bang Theory," the Beatles ,and had a love of animals.

Along with his loving mother Arlene of South Windsor, he leaves his brothers, Paul Martocci and his wife, Robin of Manchester, Stephen Martocci and his partner, Tim Farley of Columbus, Ohio, and Michael Martocci and his wife, Anne of Simsbury; his angel sister, Rosemarie Martocci of South Windsor; special nieces, Allison Martocci of Simsbury, Lauren Martocci Curtis and her husband, Matt of Manchester, and McKenzie Clark of Manchester; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

David's family wishes to extend a heart full thank you to the wonderful nurses and staff at Masonicare for their kind and compassionate care, especially his dear hospice nurse Katie Precourt, words cannot express the care you provided to David. The family would also like to thank family and friends for their support during David's illness.

His family will receive friends on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial in Center Cemetery, South Windsor, will be private at the request of his family.
