David Webster Obituary

David Joseph Webster, 86, of Willington, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022. Dave was born Jan. 29, 1936, to Morton Joseph and Dorothy Fahey Webster in Rockville. He graduated from Rockville High School. Soon after, he began his career as a builder and developer mentored by his father. Dave went on to build thousands of homes and develop many commercial properties in the tri-town area. One of the developments Dave was especially proud of was Woodside Acres in Ellington.

Dave was an active, valued member of his community. He was a loyal lifetime member of many community organizations, local boards, and social clubs including, among several others: the Rockville Elks, the Italian Social Club, the TKB Club, the Exchange Club, and the Shriners. Dave enjoyed playing tournament setback and was proud of his many card championships. When he wasn't playing cards, he was a well-known, dedicated Silver Sneakers member at Mansfield's community center.

Dave will be remembered for his loving, easy going, and positive demeanor. Dave cherished and thoroughly embraced opportunities to spend time with his family and friends. Above all, Dave loved his family and spent his adult life doing anything to provide support and guidance. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate with family and always acknowledged milestones with thoughtful and loving cards.

Dave was predeceased by his parents, sisters Shirley Marshall and Elaine Morosek, and brother Warren (Wuzzy) Webster. Dave is survived by his four children: David Webster Jr., Deborah and Daniel Higgins, Andrew and Antoinette Webster, and Kenneth and Patricia Webster. Dave is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren who adored him immensely.

Relatives and friends may join the family on Thursday, Nov. 17, between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road, Tolland. A church service will be held on Friday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 523 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Tolland. As a childhood friend David and I were inseparable. He lived on White Street and I on Grove. David had hundreds of toy trucks and cars with which we played for hours in his back yard.We grew apart as we got older, and I moved away to pursue a career. I am so happy that I got to see him last yearat his residence in Willington. Rest in peace, Dave. You were a wonderful friend at an important time in life.

So sorry to hear about Uncle Dave. May he rest in peace.

So many wonderful stories about David and from David.

And he had four great kids ! Debbie; DJ; Andy and Kenny (of course by now they probably go by Deborah, David, Andrew and Kenneth). Ha ! Good to see two of them recently at my mom's visitation.

Wonderful memories of Uncle David and I must say ---wow---6 greatgrandchildren !

Thank you; God Bless; May David rest in peace with his sisters and brother.

Uncle Dave always had a smile! He was a good guy. Our mother, Elaine, cherished him.

My deepest sympathy to the family.
I, along with a few of my many aunts and uncles, was a friend of the Webster family. I started out babysitting for Wuzzy's children--especially Kathy--when she was very young and ended up being David's secretary, apt. renter, bookkeeper, etc.etc.etc.! along with a bunch of other titles!! for a number of years. He was the best boss anyone could ever hope to have! God Bless Him!!!
May he Rest In Peace.

My deepest condolences to the Webster family of your loss of David. We were members of the 'Cheerio Club' at the Rockville Elks Club. Dave was one of the good guys and always had a positive outlook on life. I will have Dave in my thoughts and prayers.
