Diane R. Sauer, 94, formerly of Willington, CT, wife of the late Richard A. Sauer, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Woodlake at Tolland. She was born in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late George and Marie June (Shaw) Fritzson. Diane was a graduate of East Hartford High School and worked at the University of Connecticut Schools of Nursing and Agriculture as a secretary. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, golfing, bowling, and going to tag sales with her late friend Ed Slye. Above all, she loved her family and friends, and constantly kept in touch with them all. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Woodlake at Tolland and Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut for all of their care and compassion.
Diane is survived by her sons, Todd Sauer and his wife Janice, and Jeffery Sauer and Kathy; grandsons, Andrew Sauer and his wife Natalie, Charles Sauer and his partner Colleen Yarchak, and Richard Sauer and his fiancé Crystal Salzarulo; great grandchildren, Teagan, Haden, and Ryker; cousin, Ruby Moon; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Krystal Sauer; sister, Marilyn Elliott; brother, Richard Fritzson; and her special friend, Ed Slye.
Funeral services with burial in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT, will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
