Donna Regan Obituary

Donna M. Regan
Donna M. Regan. Our beloved Donna passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Donna was born in Masardis, ME, the oldest daughter of the late Alphonse and Evangeline Chalou and attended St. Agath High School. Donna moved to Connecticut in July 1963, however she never forgot her roots in Maine, always collecting and sharing old photos of where she grew up and happily keeping everyone abreast of their latest weather conditions.
In 1966 she met and married J. Michael Regan. They shared 53 beautiful years together, making memories in their forever home in Ellington where they raised their children and made many friends.
Prior to her retirement in 2010, Donna worked in sales and as the furniture buyer for Puritan Furniture in West Hartford. Donna's greatest joy in life was bringing happiness. She was warm and kind to everyone she came in contact with. Her lifelong friendships meant the world to her. She enjoyed long phone calls and ladies' luncheons. Donna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who cherished time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Kim Izzo and her husband Joe Jr. of Coventry, and Kevin Regan and his wife Jessica of Ellington; five grandchildren, Joe Izzo III and his wife Fatima of Mansfield, Larissa, Shayla, Matthew and Joshua, all of Ellington: her brother, Terry Chalou and his wife Barbara of Ashland, ME, and her brother, Doug Chalou of Windsor, CT, as well as her extended family in Ashland, ME, and her very special friends Gene and Carlene Dumond of Newington and their family. Donna was predeceased by her husband J. Michael Regan in 2019, her siblings, Susan, Rodney, Neil, and her grandson, Michael Izzo.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to Hartford Hospital for their excellent care of Donna and to Chrissy, Janka, and Uncle Doug who assisted in the care of Donna which was invaluable to the family and of whom she adored.
Her family will receive friends for calling hours from 2:30-5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service immediately following at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd., (Route 83), Vernon. At the request of her family, burial will be private in St. Mary Cemetery in Coventry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Donna's memory may be made to Connecticut Children's Foundation, Inc. 282 Washington Street, Hartford, CT 06106. Donna, and her brother, Neil, were my cousins and my first childhood friends. Oh, the memories of hours and hours every day playing outdoors in all seasons with all the cousins. Please know that I send my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt during this difficult time.
Much love,
Bobbie
