Edmund Francis Bajek, 89, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025.
Born in Thompsonville on December 23rd, 1935, Edmund grew up and lived in Enfield his entire life, except the time he spent overseas in the US Army. Edmund also was an active-duty reservist for 6 years after his service.
Edmund was employed by Pratt and Whitney for 37 years. During his retirement, he found joy in gardening and staying busy, but nothing brought him greater happiness than being the world's best "papa" to his grandchildren. A passionate sports fan, Edmund had his favorite football and baseball teams, but his true love was the UCONN women's basketball and almost never missed a game.
Edmund leaves his daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Michael Van Nostrand, his granddaughters, Jennifer Van Nostrand, Anna (Van Nostrand) and her husband Kevin Davis and a grandson, James Corbin-Bajek. Edmund also leaves his brother-in-law and a lifelong friend, Carl Flaherty.
Edmund was also loved by multiple brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends in his lifetime. Edmund was the baby of the family, and was predeceased by all seven of his siblings.
Edmund is now reunited with his beloved wife, Nancy (Flaherty), who he shared nearly 60 years of love and companionship with.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 18, from 10 am - 12 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, with a Funeral Home Service taking place at 12 pm.
