Galen coached youth basketball and baseball for many years, and loved to play golf.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved children, Kevin Cromwell and his wife, Kim, of Vernon, and Toby Cromwell of Stafford Springs; two grandchildren, whom he idolized, Tyler and Sam Cromwell, of Vernon; his brother, Tim Cromwell and his partner, Andrea, of Stafford Springs; his uncle, John Libby and his wife, Helen, of Maine; his mother-in-law, Faye Towle, of Maine; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; many friends; and his dog, Shadow. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul Libby.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, hospice workers, and staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital and St. Francis Hospital for all their care and support.

Patsy, Kevin, Toby and Tim, I am so very sorry for your loss. Although Galen and I pretty much lost touch over the years, we did speak on the phone from time to time and as a sign of true friendship, we were able to pick up instantly and have a nice conversation. I am so very sorry to hear this sad news.
