Henry Girouard Obituary

Henry J. Girouard, 88, of Somers, entered into eternal peace Wednesday, March 2, 2022, with his family by his side.

He was born in Old Town, Maine on May 24, 1933, to the late Henry and Ida (Sawyer) Girouard. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a machinist for over 55 years and retired from Hamilton Standard, Windsor Locks in 1995. After retirement he continued to work part-time at Standard Bellows, Windsor Locks until he was 81. He was a hard worker, loved the outdoors sitting in the sun, taking trips to Maine to visit family and friends, along with enjoying the beaches of Maine and New Hampshire with his late wife, Nancy. Henry was one of 14 children.

He is survived by his children, his daughter, Corinna Girouard; his son, David Girouard and his wife, Justina, and their children, Joseph, and Julianna, all of Enfield. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy in 2017 to whom he was married for 54 years.

Henry will be laid to rest at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, Massachusetts, with full military honors. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
