James Bevins Obituary

James E. Bevins
James E. Bevins, 88, of East Granby, CT, beloved husband of Eleanor (Tine) Bevins, peacefully passed away on December 08, 2023. James was born in Highgate, VT to the late Fay Donald Bevins and Loretta Yvonne (Vancelette) Bevins. James worked for many years as a lumber salesman with Lumberjack Stores and Laureno Lumber Co. His many years in the lumber business helped pave his way in building many beautiful homes as a general contractor. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Florida and eventually moved back to Connecticut to be close to family. James loved playing cards, bingo, fishing, reading a good book, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Anyone who knew James knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Besides his wife, Eleanor, he is survived by his three children, Deborah Tine and her husband, Joseph of Petersburg, PA, James S. Bevins and his wife, Leona of East Granby, Lorie Hunt-Stacy and her husband, John of East Granby; four grandchildren, James E. Bevins, II and his wife, Rachel, Jarrett Bevins and his wife, Krista, Sharell Hunt and her husband, Steven Mollison, and Payton Thomas; a great-grandchild, Mariah Lamere; a sister, Mary Huhn and her husband, Larry; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three siblings, Beverly Nolan, David Bevins, and Armeita Leduc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Mary, Gate of Heaven Parish – St. Mary's Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Recreational Fund at Governor's House, 36 Firetown Rd., Simsbury, CT 06070, or Granby Ambulance Association, 1 Pegville Rd., Granby, CT 06035.

So, so sorry to hear of his passing I remember Jim from the time I was a little kid going over to his parents house. His Dad and my Dad were half brothers. Same father, different mothers.
He was one of my Moms favorites.
My condolences to Eleanor and to his family.
