James Convey Obituary
Jim was born in Springfield on July 30, 1934, son to James J. and Ruth T. Convey. He graduated from Suffield Academy in Suffield in 1953. He then attended Springfield Trade School and learned the art of masonry and became a professional bricklayer. His esteemed workmanship at the trade school was honored with an award. He also served four years in the U.S. Army. On June 16, 1961, he married Valery Bidwell. They resided in Granby for 20 years. They also resided in Windsor and East Windsor. Jim worked at Industronics Service Co. in South Windsor for more than 25 years, servicing and repairing refractory needs on industrial and heat treating furnaces, traveling to many parts of the U.S. Upon retiring in 1999, Jim and Valery moved to Ormond Beach, Fla., where he enjoyed NASCAR Sprint Cup racing, gardening, fishing, and Florida's sunsets and natural beauty.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Valery; his son, Mark; and daughter, Lauren, all residents of Ormond Beach, Fla. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Beverly Hay of Inverness, Fla., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Enfield Cemetery in Enfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Jim's name be made to Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32124.

The Convey family,
Our most sincere condolences on the passing of a fine gentlemen. Jim was loved by all of us at Industronics and is well remembered for his professional skills, his loyalty, and and his diplomacy. We served together proudly during that time when the company prospered under the supervision of employees such as Jim. We were a proud lot and Jim's image will continue to live on in the minds of we who respected and revered him. Our hearts are broken!
