Joanne Monacchio Obituary
March 30,1939 - January 4, 2025
Joanne (Porri) Monacchio, 85, died peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2025. She was born on March 30, 1939, to the late Sebastian and Anne Porri in Hartford, CT. She was married to the late Joseph A. Monacchio for 42 years and resided in Windsor Locks before moving to Corryton, TN. While raising her family Joanne worked and retired from Hamilton Sundstrand after 22 years.
Joanne is survived by her daughters Christina M. Fuerst (David), Lori M. Carra (Michael), her son John D. Monacchio (Lisa), four grandchildren, Ashley Carra, Alyssa Wetherell (Kyle), Garrett Fuerst (Sarah), Christopher Fuerst and one great-grandchild Willow Wetherell.
Joanne was an avid cruiser where many memories were made with her cruising the Caribbean islands on RCCL and spending many summers at the beach in Old Saybrook, CT. She is and will be truly missed.
To honor Joanne's wishes, all funeral services will be private. She will be cremated and interred at the convenience of her family. Memorial contributions may be made in Joanne's name to the Hospice Promise Foundation, 4435 Valley View Dr., Ste. 104, Knoxville, TN 37917.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank-you to The University of Tennessee Medical Center Hospice Services, especially her visiting Hospice Nurse, Victoria, for the unwavering care and compassion.
Knoxville Cremation and Memorial Services is handling the arrangements.

To the family of Joanne Monacchio, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Joanne I am an old friend for about 80 years since we grew up together in Hartford, Ct. through the school years as a matter of fact Joanne wrote in my HPHS class book "I hope you will always consider me a friend" with that being said Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again. May God Bless.
