John "Jack" Carson, 90, of Manchester, beloved husband of the late Ann (nee Bingham) Carson, passed away at Manchester Manor after a short illness on December 9th, 2024. Born in East Hartford, he was the son of the late John T. and Anna K. Hartl Carson. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Carson; his niece Joanne Carson and his nephew Bobbie Carson. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving and heartbroken daughter Lisa Carson and son-in-law Gary Galett. Jack also leaves his nieces Debi Carson Apolczar and Robin Carson, and the world's best long-time caregiver and friend Cherie Barrett. He left his much-loved dog Charlie to his daughter Lisa. Jack also leaves behind many cousins on both sides of the Hartl/Madden families.
Jack was an Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict, where he was stationed in Japan with his lifetime childhood friend, Don Matacheo, originally of East Hartford. After the service, Jack worked for First National Stores as a store manager for many years. He worked at Connecticut Distributors of Stratford as a liquor salesman until his retirement. Never one to sit quietly, after retiring; Jack enjoyed delivering flowers for Ron Brown and his staff, and "the ladies" at Browns Florist. He always said that was his greatest job. Jack was also a long-standing member of the Elks Lodge #1893, serving on many committees and also as Exalted Ruler.
I know my Dad is so happy to rejoin my Mom and his old buddies: Tex Bridgeman, Jimmy Ellis, Jim Caulkins and Larry Finney for one more football game and baked stuffed shrimp. At my Dad's request, there will be no funeral services held. For online condolences, please visit www.tierneyfuneralhome.com.
