John Roland Desmarais

1953 - 2023

John Roland Desmarais, 69, of Enfield, loving husband of Olga (Concepcion) Desmarais died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, surrounded by his family.

John was born in Hartford, on Oct. 9, 1953, son of the late Roland R. and Dorothy (Perry) Desmarais. He was a graduate of South Windsor High School and went on to study plumbing. He worked for Willco, a family business he eventually owned and operated with his brother William. John was a hardworking man who worked up until he became ill. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, old cars, gardening, vacationing to tropical locations, and ice cream sundaes with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife Olga of Enfield; he leaves his daughter, Angela Rejman and her husband, Ralph of Coventry; his siblings, William Desmarais and his wife, Pamela of Tolland, Eileen Drain and her husband, Roger of Middlebury, Linda Trudnak and her husband, Dave of Enfield, Gary Desmarais and his wife, Brenda of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Laurie Smith and her husband, Mark of South Windsor; and his grandchildren, Parker and Annabelle Rejman both of Coventry. He was predeceased by his first wife, Karen (Kehoe) Desmarais.

His family will receive friends on Monday, March 6, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. Funeral service and burial will follow privately.
