John Liro Obituary

John Henry Liro III, 72, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021.

John took God's hand like he always did when God gave him whatever medical challenges were presented to him just like a soldier in war - always getting up and moving forward. His medical conditions in life were mountainous – he was blind, hearing impaired, and had irreparable cardiac and renal conditions – yet he never complained about the painful, invasive, and exhaustive procedures he had to endure. While the odds were never in his favor, he accepted his destiny. John was a brave man that lived every day on this earth with goodness and kindness, who spent more time worrying about everyone in our family compared to himself. John never yelled, got upset, or complained about his life, and always forgave quickly. Mentally he wanted to be independent like everybody else, and while physically unable to do so, his own determination, resilience, and outlook always made him want to try to complete tasks anyway. His journey and pain in life are now done; he gave us so much and never realized it. Long may you run my beautiful brother. People tried to change his way of life, but he was happy just the way he was. John always beat to the sound of his own drum. He loved his animals, listening to UConn women's basketball and Boston Red Sox games, James Patterson mysteries, old Western movies, Family Feud, classic rock music, as well as, sunbathing at the beach, and going out to eat. His deep laughter was unmistakable from a distance.

The family would like to thank the surgeons at Vascular Access Center in Springfield, Fresenius Dialysis Center, Nutmeg Senior Ride, Kate McAvoy from Senator Kissel's office, and the Enfield Police and EMTs, for their care and support of John.

John is survived by his loving sister and caregiver, Janie; his niece and nephews Carissa, Jon, and Jameson; and numerous cousins. John was predeceased by his devoted parents John and Helen.
