John Taber Obituary

John E. Taber, 77, of East Hartford, husband of Joan (Magrath) Taber, died peacefully at home Monday, Sept. 1, 2014.

Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Henry Clay Taber and Edna Alice (Dunn) Taber, and has lived in East Hartford for 54 years. He was employed at Pratt and Whitney for 39 years before his retirement in 1999.

Besides his beloved wife of 55 years, he is survived by two sons, John E. Taber Jr. and his wife, Amy, of East Hartford, and Scott H. Taber and his wife, Mandy, of East Hartford; a daughter, Linda M. Giusto, East Hartford. He also is survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Saturday, Sept. 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. at D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford, CT 06118. Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions, in John's name, may be made to Cancer Support Network, P.O. Box 2182, Branford, CT 06405-1282.
