Joseph Simcic Obituary
He was born July 28, 1929, in Filbert, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Stephen and Katherine (Tabol) Simcic. Joseph was raised in Pennsylvania, then moved to Hartford as a teen to attend Hartford High School. Joseph then moved to Enfield, where he lived most of his life, to raise his children. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Joseph worked for ATT, from which he retired after 35 years. He was an active member of Holy Family Church, where he served as an usher for the 11:30 Mass and ran bingo. He was a member of the Elks, where he was a 50-year member.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Marie Simcic and her partner, Allison Dendy, of Vero Beach, Florida; a son-in-law, William Higgins, of Enfield; a grandson, Frederick J. Cornock, of Daytona, Florida; a brother, Frank Simcic and his wife, Lorette, of Farmington; a sister, Anna Marie Simcic, of Hartford; a niece, Katherine Simcic, of Hartford; and a nephew, Fran Simcic and his wife, Karen, of Vernon. He was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Ann Cornock.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Road, Enfield.
