Lillian Butler Luginbuhl

Lillian Butler Luginbuhl, 96, of Ellington, passed away peacefully Dec. 9, 2021, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Lillian was the daughter of late Frank and Josephine Butler of Rockville. She was predeceased by her husband David Luginbuhl; and her companion of many years Harry Risedorf; along with her siblings, Rita Anderson, Isabelle Krumm, Henry Butler and Raymond Butler and her son-in-law Kenneth Lockwood. Lillian leaves behind her children, Chris Luginbuhl of Rockville, Janice Groot and her husband, Arno of Ellington, Nancy Lockwood of Mystic, Bruce Luginbuhl and his wife, Karen of Ellington and Barry Luginbuhl his wife, Glenna of Stafford Springs and adopted daughter Beth Gottier of Ellington. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Kory and his wife, Amy, Heidi, Krista and her husband, John, Rachel, Jennifer and her husband, David, David and his wife, Jackie, Ashley and her husband, Ben, Bradley and his wife, Amelia, and Brent; 14 great-grandchildren' and many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Adele Trueb, Elizabeth Luginbuhl, Evelyn Luginbuhl and Alma Luginbuhl. Lillian was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by so many.

Lillian grew up with her family in Rockville until she met and married David and they moved to Ellington in 1947 where she has resided ever since.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rt. 83) Vernon.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 16, 10 a.m., meeting directly at Union Church, 3 Elm St., in Rockville. Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery.
