Mark Krol Obituary

Mark "The Shark" Krol, 54, of Somers. The world lost a blessed soul on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008.

He was the son of Edward and Eileen Krol. Mark resided in Somers all his life. He was a longtime communicant of All Saints Catholic Church. He was an avid skier and traveled to many skiing destinations over the course of his life. Mark was a big time Nascar fan; he was a walking encyclopedia when it came to racing. He was a pit crew member to the Todd Owen Race Team.

Mark is survived by his parents, Edward and Eileen (Babonas) Krol; his brother, Jeff, and his wife, Donna; his nephew, Jeffrey; and the family black lab, Shania, all of Somers. He leaves a vast amount of many good friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at All Saints Church, Somers, on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at 10 a.m.

There are no calling hours, and committal services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mark's memory may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Dear Eileen, Ed and Jeff,
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Mark was such a nice guy. We enjoyed him at the races and are so sad the Lord needed him so soon. May God Bless you.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Krol,
We were all so terribly saddened to hear about Mark on the SSC Website. I have known Mark for over 40 years as an incredible skier and as a great person and friend. My husband and 3 children (Bill, John and Jen) always remember him encouraging myself and my husband to race in the club races. We will all miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Dear Jeff & Donna,

I am so sorry about Mark. He was a gentle soul and left us before his time.
