Mary Buckley Obituary

Mary E. Buckley
Mary E. Buckley of Warehouse Point (East Windsor), CT, passed away on March 9, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born in Queens, New York, Mary moved to Warehouse Point at the age of 5. She graduated from St Mary's Elementary School in Windsor Locks, East Windsor High School, and attended photography and law enforcement classes at Manchester Community College. Starting her career in banking, Mary found her life's calling with the Connecticut State Police in 1980, graduating at the top of her class at the Academy. She was a Trooper for more than 28 years, retiring with the rank of Trooper, First Class, and remained an avid proponent of law enforcement for the remainder of her life.
Mary was known as "Bubbles" to her family and friends, a nickname given to her as a baby because she blew bubbles into her bottle. She was an avid country music fan and also loved figure skating. But most of all, she was a passionate cat lover and was parent to many exotic felines throughout the years.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Patrick and Justine (Teenie) of Warehouse Point. She is survived by 3 brothers, Joseph Patrick (Pat) of Portales, NM, Tom of Broad Brook, and Bob and his wife Linda of Orlando, FL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. And she is also survived by her precious Persian Himalayan, Prince.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Mary Gate of Heaven Parish, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks, on April 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at St. Catherine Cemetery in Broad Brook.
Visitation with the family will be held Friday, April 4, 2025, from 6-8 PM at Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor, CT.

I am so saddened by the loss of Mary. I am still trying to fathom this. :( My Wednesdays will never be the same without her. I so enjoyed delivering her groceries and visiting with her each week. Thoughts are with her siblings and specially Prince <3

Dearest Past, Tom, Bob and Linda,
Although we cannot be there in person with you, we share your loss of Bubbles. She was a force in her own right: she broke and important ceiling, she was proud to serve, she stood up for her beliefs, and never gave up despite the health issues. She was always candid and funny and loving to all of us. I'm grateful that we were able to reconnect again and stay in touch with her, it warmed my heart. I'm so sorry she suffered so, but it is comforting to know that her family stayed close and were there at the end with her.
Rest in peace Bubbles, we will miss you.
With sincerest condolences, Marianna & Win Crans

I remember Mary working on the move 'the duck' at Bolton Ice Rink. We did have fun there.
