Maureen Daly Obituary

Maureen L. Daly, 64, of East Windsor and previously of Windsor, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Maureen was born on Oct. 10, 1956, in Hartford, daughter to John J. Daly Jr. and Lois (Peoples) Daly. Maureen grew up in Windsor, attended local schools and was a graduate of Windsor High School, Class of 1974. In the early 2000s, Maureen went back to school where she attended Cambridge College, earning her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Special Education. Throughout Maureen's life, she was a very fun loving, caring and giving individual. Her ongoing care and compassion for all forms of life eventually led her into the health care industry as a caregiver, helping the elderly with daily tasks. In her spare time, Maureen liked to travel the globe to various destinations. Maureen was a devoted mother and friend to her "Rosebud," Daly Kat Kobos. Her kind personality will leave a void in the hearts of her family and friends that will be very difficult to fill.

In addition to her daughter Daly, Maureen is survived by her mother Lois of East Windsor; her brother John J. Daly III and his wife, Linda of Suffield; her nephews John Daly and his wife, Lauren and their daughter Ella, Colin Daly and his son Ryan; and her niece and Goddaughter Devin Daly. A special thanks to her Aunt Susan Hallowell and lifelong friend Lynn Baker for all of their love, support, and care throughout the past months. Maureen also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Maureen was predeceased by her father, John Jr.; and her sister Kathleen Daly-Halik.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave., Windsor, with a funeral service to begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111 or to Smilow Cancer Hospital, 35 Park St., New Haven, CT 06511.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Moe had a great soul, and her smile and upbeat attitude was infectious to every one around her. I went to High School and worked with her at the A&P in the early 70's and that was always a fun experience. RIP Moe.

To Louis, Daly, and all who loved Maureen,

Jim and I had the good fortune of meeting and getting to know Maureen as camping neighbors at Witch Meadow Lake Campground, Salem, CT. We will always remember her as a strong, caring person whose heart was full of love for family and animals. Maureen always had time for a friend and a kind word to share. If you asked her for her opinion or for advice, you were going to get her honest thoughts as she was true to herself without apology. We can all learn from that. The universe has a new angel. Rest in peace Maureen.

With deepest sympathy,

Lynn

I have wonderful memories of this beautiful person that Maureen was.
Always uplifting the spirit in others.
She was a caring, giving neighbor to my brother Arthur for many years before he passed.
This world needs more wonderful people like Maureen.
May she Rest In Peace.
