Michael G. Dobson

Michael G. Dobson, 61, of Stafford Springs, passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 23, 2018, at Johnson Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Stafford Springs, son of Shirley (Fitch) Dobson and the late Kenneth N. Dobson. As a young man, Mike was a gifted hockey player and athlete. He had many hobbies, but especially loved to go to the Stafford Motor Speedway, play golf, and to go deep-sea fishing off the Cape with his buddies every year. He was an avid fan of hockey, racing, football, and baseball and his favorite teams were the Boston Bruins, New York Giants, and Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed vacationing at Cape Cod, playing poker slots at the casinos, and taking his wife on cruises. He dearly loved animals and little kids- he looked and acted like a tough guy but he was a truly kind-hearted man who touched many people in his life. Mike worked as a machinist and supervisor for most of his adult life and was happily retired for the past nine years.

Besides his mother, Shirley, Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy (Stuart) Dobson; three children, John Dobson, Casey Depellegrini, and Kristen Kelleher; three siblings, Kenneth Dobson and his wife, Lori, Cheryl Mokoski and her partner, Bob Fitzgerald, and Mark Dobson and his partner, Kim Fluery; his nephews, Josh Dobson, Kevin Mokoski, and James Stuart; and nieces, Sara Mokoski and Meghann Stuart Woods; two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Amelia; and his cherished pups, Molly and Mindy Honeypie Dobson.

Calling hours for Mike are Friday, Sept. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs.

His funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs.
