Nathan Gladden Obituary

Nathan O. "Nate" Gladden, 38, of Manchester, loving husband of 20 years and best friend since the fifth grade to Christina "Tina" (Kvart) Gladden, passed away suddenly on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016.

He was born in Rockville on Aug. 27, 1977, son of David Gladden of Canterbury and the late Gale (Leatherdale) Currie. Nathan was raised in Rockville, attended local schools and was a graduate of NETTTS in Somers. Currently he was employed at the Goodwill Store in Manchester. He enjoyed writing poetry, listening to music, and he was known as a talented artist. Nathan was an avid Miami Dolphins fan, and he loved and looked forward to going to area auctions with his Dad every Tuesday. Nathan always made himself available to help people. He continues that legacy by giving the gift of life as he is an organ and tissue donor.

In addition to his wife and father he is survived by his two children, Kirsten A. Gladden and Skye M. Gladden, both of Manchester; his two brothers, Christopher Gladden of Japan and Jeremy Gladden of California; his sister, Rebecca Shapard and her husband, David, of Manchester; and his stepmother, Elaine Gladden of Canterbury. Other survivors include his father and mother-in-law, Albert and Rose Kvart of Vernon; his brother-in-law, Eric Kvart and his wife, Nicki, of Framingham, Massachusetts; and several nephews and one niece.

All are welcome to attend a celebration of his life on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Rockville Church of the Nazarene, 47 East St., Rockville.

There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Gladden Children Education Memorial Fund, c/o United Bank, 241 Broad St., Manchester, CT 06040.

Tina and children. My thoughts are with you all. I feel horrible for you and your loss. I have you in my prayers. If there is anything I can do or you need or you just need a hug, a person to sound off at, or to talk. Please do not hesitate calling me. I know your pain.
